Bamboo Toothbrush

Toothbrushing tools date back to the Babylonians and Egyptians times, with not much changing since – a handle to grip, and a bristle-like feature to clean your teeth. What has changed is the material we use for the handle and bristles. Most people now use a plastic toothbrush, which can’t be recycled and ends up in landfill or the ocean! With an average person using around 300 toothbrushes in their lifetime this is a lot of plastic waste. We need to go back to using more natural products for cleaning our teeth – enter the Bamboo Toothbrush.

With over 6 billion people brushing their teeth every morning and evening a swap to a bamboo toothbrush is a small change that can make a significant impact on plastic pollution. I believe small changes can make a big difference, which is why I have chosen to support @BambuuBrush. They believe changing a small percentage of our population’s habits  could, in turn, have a much bigger impact on our future planet.

Having recently taken this toothbrush on holiday with me I can safely say the quality is excellent. Bamboo quality is really important when purchasing your toothbrush. I have heard comments from friends such as ‘I got a splinter while brushing my teeth!’ Personally I haven’t found this at all and feel it is very similar to a plastic toothbrush. If I had to mention anything it would be that when you first use it the taste is slightly different, nothing unpleasant and something you certainly get used to – a ‘woody’ texture!
